Geraldean Pruyn Memler, 98, formerly of Iowa City died Tuesday in Englewood, Colorado.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, May 16, 2005, 10AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A Memorial Service to celebrate Geraldean’s life will be held at 11 AM, Monday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service with the Rev. Rebecca Crouse officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 9:45AM, Monday, where a reception will be held following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.

Geraldean was born in Ida Grove, Iowa on January 9, 1907, the daughter of Minott and Carrie Dean Pruyn. She graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1925 and from the University of Iowa in 1931.

She was employed by the University of Iowa Reserve Library. She married Raymond Memler, owner of Memler’s Dairy, in 1932 at the First English Lutheran Church in Iowa City and lived in Iowa City until 1995 when she moved to Englewood, CO.

Geraldean was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was honored as a 50-year member of the Iowa City Woman’s Club and was active in the Girl Scouts and in Horace Mann PTA.

Geraldean is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Gary) McNee of Littleton, CO; two granddaughters Jody Jamison and Marne; two great grandchildren Payton and Kelsey

Geraldean was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.
