Joanne M. Herrick, age 89 of Iowa City died Thursday, November 28, 2019, at Briarwood Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, December 2, 2019, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, where there will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the services and following the service during a reception at the funeral home. Joanne was born May 31, 1930, in Carroll, Iowa the daughter of Percy and Frances Marie (Fengel) Herrick. She was raised in Scranton, Iowa until her family moved to Iowa City in 1942 when her father joined the faculty at the College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa. Joanne cherished her church membership at First United Methodist Church here in Iowa City, making many lifelong friends. She also loved being “Auntie Jo” to her niece and nephew!

Her family includes her sister and husband, Karen and Tom Williams; nephew, Guy Williams; niece, Sally Treiber and cousin, Jeanne Roberts. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Andy Williams.
