Clarence J. Sueppel, 58, lifelong resident of the Solon area, died Oct. 14 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after a short illness.

For 40 years, Mr. Sueppel raised and showed purebred Hampshire hogs. He was a member of the Iowa and American Hampshire associations.

Survivors include his widow, the former Mabel Clark, whom he married Sept. 24, 1951; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Kamerling and a son, Lawrence, both of Solon; 6 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Agnes E. White of Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services were held in Solon Oct. 18. Burial was in St. Mary's church cemetery.
