Patricia “Trisha” Hunley was born on October 28th, 1983 at Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago, IL to Odie Mae Hunley and George Long. The Precious Lord has taken her hand on November 5th, 2019.
She attended the Christ Temple True Holiness in Gary, Indiana as child where she found the love of God. She was full of life. She was outspoken. She spoke up not only for herself but for others as well. She loved to help everyone. She was known to have a good heart. She was someone that would give you the shirt off her back. She was energetic and loved to party. She enjoyed listening and singing the blues. Despite of all of the hardships that she has encountered, she always had a smile on her face. She didn’t let no one take her joy.
She attended South Shore High school in Chicago, IL. Patricia “Trisha” met Virges “Lamar” Colford in 1996. They both brought two beautiful children into this world. One son named Devion Devante Colford and daughter Da’Vina Raquel Diamond Colford. She loved to cook. She worked at only a few restaurants in her lifetime.
She later moved to Iowa City, Iowa in 2010 to build a foundation for herself where she regained life. She had a great support system from a host of the community and friends. Even though she was born and raised in Chicago, Iowa was a place she called home. She will be truly missed but never forgotten. She left a special place in all of our hearts.
Patricia preceded death by her mother Odie Mae Hunley and father George Long.
She leaves to cherish two children Devion Devante and Da’Vina Raquel Diamond Colfrod of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Two grandchildren Devitria Patricia Debbie Paige Clark and Alina Noami Lynn Colford, five sisters Michaela Austin (Leslie Woods) and Brenda Hunley of Chicago, IL, Natasha Mckee (Edward Mckee brother-in law) of Iowa City, Iowa, Debra Long and Pamela Chears- Sutherland of Memphis, Tennessee, two brothers Travis Hunley of Iowa City, Iowa, Lawrence Long of Memphis, Tennessee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
