Doris M. Duttlinger, 92, of Iowa City, died on Thursday, October 24 at Windmill Manor in Coralville surrounded by family.
A celebration of Doris’s life is pending at this time. Entombment will be at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Iowa City.
Doris was born February 13, 1927 in North Liberty, IA, daughter of George L. and Edith B. (Wray) Ranshaw. She was raised in North Liberty, farmed from 1948 until the move to Kalona in 1994. She graduated from University High School in 1945 and went to college at the University of Iowa. On February 4, 1948, Doris married Raymond Duttlinger at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. They had four children: Tom, Karen, Dan, and John. Ray died on July 20, 2002.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her family on the farm in Iowa City. She loved tending to her garden and was a phenomenal cook.
Doris is survived by her three children, Karen (William) Giusti of San Bruno, CA, Dan Duttlinger of Iowa City, and John Duttlinger of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Raymond (Tamara) Giusti, Sarah (Laurie) Giusti, Luke (Heather) Duttlinger, and Jamie (Chris) Thompson; nine great-grandchildren, Ella, Lena, and Dax Duttlinger, and Alayna Easton, Ana, Terrence and Maxwell Giusti and Jonathan Giusti and Lucas Culbreth; siblings, Robert Ranshaw and Evelyn Rittger. She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray; son, Thomas; brother, George Ranshaw; sisters, Madelene Sydebotham and Marcella Pattison.
