Mrs. Putnam, 82, Goes In Death; Funeral Friday

Mrs. Katherine Putnam, 82, of 513 East Third street, died Tuesday at 4:50 p.m. in her home, after a seven weeks illness, with complications.
She was born May 10, 1864, in Baden, Germany, the daughter of Casper and Margaretha Lenz Frank, and had been a resident of Muscatine the past 46 years. She was married to Homer Putnam in Nebraska. Mrs. Putnam was a member of Grace Lutheran church.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Clark Putnam, Rockford, Ill., and Allen Albert Putnam of Muscatine; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The parents, her husband, two daughters and one sister preceded her in death.
Private funeral rites will be conducted at the family home, 513 East Third street, Friday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. August Aden. Burial will be in the Lone Tree cemetery. The body is at the family home. The Geo. M. Wittich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Funeral rites for Mrs. Katherine Putnam, who died Tuesday at her home, 513 East Third street, were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Friday at the George M. Wittich Funeral home by the Rev. August Aden, pastor of Ziegler Memorial Lutheran church at New Era. Interment was in the Lone Tree cemetery.
Mrs. Emil Schultz was the soloist while Mrs. Mabel Henning, Mrs. L. H. Lamb and Mrs. William Umlandt served as flower attendants. Casket bearers were John Johnson, Albert Ernest, Vernon, Arthur and Ralph Lenz.
