JOHN L. MUMM DIED SUNDAY IN MASS. CAMP

Former Lone Tree Boy Who Entered Service July 30 Is Dead.

John Louis Mumm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mumm of Lone Tree, died at Camp Devens, Massachusetts, Sunday at 2:05 of pneumonia.
Deceased was twenty-three years, ten months and fourteen days old and left Johnson county for Camp Forest, Georgia on July 30 and was transferred to the eastern camp about three weeks ago where he developed pneumonia. He was a member of Company A 212 engineers.
Deceased is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mumm, of Lone Tree, and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Hiebing, Nichols, Iowa; and Amanda, Gertrude and Celia at home.
This young man will be represented by a gold star on the Johnson county service flag. He gave his life in the cause as truly as any who have died on the fields of France. A large circle of friends and relatives will mourn his sad demise.
The body is expected to arrive at Lone Tree Wednesday and funeral arrangements will be made accordingly.
