Lester “Vern” Burgess Jr., 71, of Coralville, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Mercy Iowa City from complications of pneumonia. No services are planned.

Born November 7, 1947 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Lester Vern Burgess Sr. and Sophie T. Archackey, Vern was raised and lived in Pontiac for many years.

Vern met and later married Patricia “Pat” Kwiatkowski on April 4, 1995 in Las Vegas.
He worked as a machine builder – building mold manufacturing equipment & presses for automobile manufacturers. Recently, he enjoyed working as an Uber driver in the Iowa City / Coralville area.

Survivors include his wife Pat; two daughters, Lindsey Burgess of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Lori Burgess of Westland, Michigan and two grandchildren, Asa and Hayden.
His parents preceded him in death.
