William E. Venzke of the Frytown community died Saturday, January 22, 1966 at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 4 days.
He was born in Johnson County February 18, 1888, the son of Reinhardt and Bertha Boartz Venzke. On September 27, 1922 he was married to Helen Eimen and they farmed north of Frytown until he retired.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Raymond, Kalona and Dale, Washington; one daughter, Janet, Washington; two grandchildren; two brothers, Herman, Wellman and Albert, Iowa City; one sister, Mrs. Richard Graper.
A memorial for the building fund of Zion Lutheran church, Iowa City has been established by the family.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 25 at the Peterseim Funeral Chapel in Kalona with the Rev. Lowell Koch officiating. Interment was made in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Sharon Center.
