William Hopp was born in Mecklenberg, Germany, the 15th of Sept. 1832, and died at his home near Oasis, Oct. 6th, 1915. He came to America in 1859 and was married to Maria Kahler in 1860. Their daughter, Ella, died in infancy and the son, William, lives on the home place. They moved to Iowa in 1862 and settled in Graham township where he has since resided.

The funeral occurred from the Oasis M.E. church, Friday, Oct. 8th, at 10:00 a.m.
