For a number of years she taught elementary and middle school at Rockford, Iowa where she also served as prinicpal of the elementary school. Wanda married Wendell Meggitt in the 1940’s when they moved to Iowa City where they resided for over sixty years.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Iowa City where she was a Deaconess, active in many of the church’s functions; also involved with scouting, PTA, and a number of women’s organizations over the years. Her love of the piano was obvious with the music she shared with so many coming from the depths of her heart and soul. All will miss her.
