Manuel Cruz Fuentes of Coralville, Iowa passed away on Saturday August 11, 2018, at the age of 81.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Manuel was born at home on a rural farm in Villa del Carbon, Mexico on March 26, 1937 to Julio Cruz Rosas and Rosa Fuentes de Cruz. He was the tenth of 14 children.

His siblings consisted of Consuelo Cruz de Baca, Guadalupe Cruz de Buendia, David Cruz Fuentes+ (Maria Guadalupe Vargas de Cruz), Carmen Cruz Fuentes, Isabel Cruz de Reyes, Delfina Cruz de Ramirez, Margarita Cruz de Almazan, Gloria Cruz de Gil, Sergio Cruz Fuentes, Ricardo Cruz Fuentes, Sylvia Leasman(Randy Leasman), Maria Guadalupe Palos.

He married Maria de Gracia Loza on September 30th, 1965. They shared 53 years together and had 6 daughters Lorena, Silvia Isela (Tom Savickas), Janet Cristina (Valdemar Alaniz Gonzalez), Miriam Faviola (Jared Lasky), Sandra (Edson Ortiz Correa), and Cintia (Andrew Cutter). He had nine grandchildren Walfred Alaniz Cruz, Odette Garcia Cruz, Valeria Neri Cruz, Emiliano Ortiz Cruz, Doroteo Ortiz Cruz, Regina Neri Cruz, Alberto Neri Cruz, Leonard Cutter, Samuel Cutter.

Manuel will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A rosary prayer service will be held on Wednesday, August 22nd at 7pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville. Visitation will be from 6pm tp 9pm on Thursday, August 23rd at Lensing Oak Hill Funeral Home, 210 Holiday Road, in Coralville.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, August 24th at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville.
