Mrs. R. P. Mulock
Rachel Ann Payne was born in Appleton, Ohio, July 3, 1842, and died in Colfax, Iowa, Monday, April 22, 1918, at two o’clock in the afternoon.
The family moved to Solon, Iowa, near Iowa City, in 1843. Miss Payne was married to Mr. Mulock at Solon, October 6, 1872.
To them four children were born, Robert and Birdie, who died in infancy, Josephine Mulock Kelley and Edna Hulbert Mulock.
Mrs. Mulock untied with the Methodist church when fourteen years of age. They moved to Colfax February 28, 1888.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. Cannom. The Eastern Star attended in a body. On Wednesday the remains were taken to Solon for burial.
The stores of Colfax were all closed during funeral services in respect for deceased who was a very worthy Christian lady.
