Leo Lenoch, 74
Leo P. Lenoch, 74, of 517 Terrace Road, died Sunday, July 6, 1997, at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis J. Lenoch officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at George L. Gay Funeral Home and Crematorium. A Knighs of Columbus Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m., and a vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the UI Foundation for Asthma Research.
Mr. Lenoch was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Iowa City to Frank and Bessie (Greazel) Lenoch. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and attended McCabe Business College in Iowa City. He owned and operated Leo's Standar Service at the corner of Dubuque and Market streets from 1952 to 1994. He was a lifelong Iowa City resident. He married Patricia J. Anderson on July 22, 1945, in Chula Vista, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Elks Lodge No. 590, Iowa City American Legion Post No. 17, Knights of Columbus Marquette Council No. 842 and a past member of Iowa City Moose Lodge No. 1096.
Survivors include his wife; one son and his wife, Barry and Ann Lenoch of West Branch; two daughters, Kami (Mrs. Steve) Greer of Iowa City and Kelli (Mrs. Ed) Rinderspacher of West Branch; two sisters, Rita (Mrs. Joe) Krall of Iowa City and Magdelen (Mrs. John) Kasper of Morse; three brothers, the Rev. Francis Lenoch of Solon, John Lenoch and his wife, Sophia, of Iowa City and Peter Lenoch and his wife, Katherine, of Madison, Wis.; one daughter-in-law, Sandi Lenoch of Iowa City; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and one son, Stephen, died earlier.
