Ron Metsala, lovingly known as “Uncle Ronnie”, 66, passed away January 14, 2018.

The family will greet friends Saturday June 30th, 2018 from 10:30 - 11:00 AM at Lensing Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. Graveside services will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City following the greeting time. A reception will conclude the services at the funeral home.

The family encourages everyone to please dress in their casual apparel, just as he would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation.

Ron was born February 26, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois. He formerly lived in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City before moving to Broomfield, Colorado many years ago.

Survivors include his wife Trish Metsala; son Bradley Metsale; stepson Nick Frasher; daughter-in-law Carolyn Biggart; sister Janette (Steve) Birney; sister-in-law Phyllis (Larry) Steele; and granddaughter Kyra Biggart-Frasher; nieces and nephews, Chad (Alice) Steele, Brian (Tiffany) Steele, Adam (Beth) Steele, Scott (Kally) Birney, Beth Birney, Mike (Wanda) Eby and Jason (Carmen) Eby.

Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Arnie Metsala and Lois Metsale; stepmother Helen Metsala; father-in-law, Leonard McLachlan; mother-in-law Eleanor McLachlan and nephew Cory Steele.
