The death of Mr. S.H. The deceased was born at Beechwoods, Lancaster Co., PA, Dec. 19, 1837, removing from there with his parents to Columbus, Ohio, and later to Iowa, this county. He was an intelligent, enterprising citizen; a man of spotless integrity, a king husband and an affectionate and indulgent father.

Surviving are two sons and eight daughters – Mrs. C. E. Endsley, West Branch; Oscar S. Hemsted, Morse; Mrs. T.E. Schofield, Gettysburg, S.D.; Mrs. C.E.Graham, Oasis; Guy S. Hemsted, Gettysburg S.D.; and Mable, Bessie, Esther and Mary, at home.

There are also three brothers and three sisters, one of whom is Mrs. A.J. Hershire of Iowa City.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at 1 o’clock from Christian church in Morse and later interment was made in the Morse cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. G.W. Furniss of West Liberty, a former pastor and family friend.
