Jake Kinsinger Fatally Injured In Accident

Wednesday morning, Jake Kinsinger of the Sharon community was on duty with the county road maintainer near the Wm. Mineke home, one mile north of Sharon.
About 10:30 he met Joni Miller with a team and wagon. The horses were frightened and refused to pass the maintainer. Jake, as he is favorably known, obliged by stopping the machine and was in the act of helping Mr. Miller when the horse he was leading plunged throwing him to the ground, and at the same time started to run. Kinsinger did not have time enough to get on his feet or roll out of danger, when both wheels of the wagon loaded with fifteen hundred pounds of oats passed over the right side of his body.
Dr. Fry was immediately called to the scene of the accident and decided that Mr. Kinsinger should have hospital treatment and observation. He was immediately taken to the Mercy hospital in Iowa City, where he passed away at 2:45 this (Thursday) morning. His injuries consisted of crushed leg and arm, broken ribs on both sides of his body and severe internal injuries.
Mr. Kinsinger was 62 years of age and had been connected with road and maintenance work for Johnson County for the past twenty-one years. He is survived by six children Earl, Ray, Clifford, Jennie, Mrs. Ira Kinsinger and Gertrude. Mrs. Kinsinger passed away several years ago.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the Sharon Evangelical church.
