Mabel Winborn Dies At Iowa City

Mabel Winborn, 95, of 701 Oaknoll Drive, Iowa City, formerly of Sharon Center, died Saturday, April 3, 1982, after a sudden illness.
Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Adrian Yon Schoenmaker officiating. Burial was in the Sharon Center Methodist Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Sharon Center United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Winborn was born April 17, 1886, in Sharon Township, a daughter of Phillip F. and Anna E. Ressler Schwimley. She married John Thomas Winborn September 7, 1910, in Sharon Center. She was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include four sons, Everett Winborn and Milton Winborn, both of Sharon Center, Walter Winborn of Booneville, Missouri, and Russell Winborn of Iowa City; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Lucille) Williams of Williamsburg, Mrs. Harvey (Alice) Thompson of Ames and Mrs. Wayne (Esther) Handsaker of Colo; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.
