Joan H. Osbon, 87, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Iowa City, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 12, 2018.

Graveside services will be held at 10am Friday, May 18, 2018, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, where burial will take place next to her beloved husband, Dr. Don Osbon. Funeral services are being held in Georgetown on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Faith Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Joan’s memory to Faith Lutheran Church @ 4010 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628 or the American Cancer Society. Joan Hart was born to cherished parents, Harvey and Luna (Sistck) Hart, on a cool fall day in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1930. She attended college at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, where she earned the title of Registered Nurse. Being a nurse, Joan cared for many people, but she cherished her beloved husband, Don. They were married on September 1, 1951 in her home town of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Joan and Don Osbon went on to have two much loved children, Jim and Janet.

Joan was a faithful worshipper of the Lord, and could be found doing so at Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown, Texas. She was a very active member, and served various positions such as; the Altar Guild, and the Bereavement Committee.

Joan is preceded in passing by her husband of 34 years, Don and both of her parents.

She is survived by; son, James D. "Jim" Osbon and wife Brenda of Driftwood, Texas; daughter, Janet E. McLaughlin and partner Jim Brown of Sunnyvale, California; grandson, John D. McLaughlin of San Jose, California; grandson, Keith R. McLaughlin of Sunnyvale, California; grandson, Mark C. McLaughlin of San Jose, California; grandson, Paul R. Osbon and wife Gina of Round Rock, Texas; grandson, Clinton J. Osbon of Round Rock, Texas; grandson, Brent N. Osbon of Driftwood, Texas; granddaughter, Megan N. Osbon of Lakeway, Texas; great grandson, Ryan J. Osbon of Round Rock, Texas; great granddaughters, Anna Kate and Evan Marie Osbon of Round Rock, Texas.
