Calvin Yoder, 54, of Route 3, died late Sunday at Mercy Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sharon United Methodist Church, with burial in the Sharon Cemetery. Masonic memorial rites will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, where visitation starts tonight. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Yoder was born Oct. 27, 1919 in Johnson County, to Omar R. and Emma Petsel Yoder. He married Marietta Hartzler June 23, 1943, in Iowa City and farmed in the Sharon Center area most of his life. He was affiliated with the Sharon United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Lodge AF and AM in Sharon Center.

Surviving are his wife; five sons, Reginald of Indianola; Michael, Gary and Steven, of Iowa City, and Larry of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Jacqueline of Iowa City; three grandchildren; his father of Iowa City; three brothers, Glen of Iowa City; Ted of Clinton, and Alan of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and three sisters, Mrs. Orville (Mabel) Hora of West Branch, and Mrs. Wayne (Emily) Roberts and Mrs. Russell (Charlotte) Lackender, both of Iowa City.

His mother and a son died earlier.
