Mrs. M. Hopple died at her home in Cedar township, April 28, and was laid to rest in the Sutliff cemetery, April 29. Mrs. Hopple was born at Langkirch, Baden, Germany, Oct. 22, 1829, emigrating to this country in 1856. She was married first in 1860 to Jacob Quetechenbach, and in 1870 was married to Mr. Hopple, who outlives her. Six children were born of these two unions, only two of whom survive - Jacob Quetechenbach, Jr., and Lizzie Hopple. The funeral was attended by many neighbors and a number of friends from Iowa City. The services were conducted by Rev. Kenneth Money, of Solon.
