Elmus "Red" Srickler Killed In Auto Crash

Elmus (Red) Strickler, of Iowa City, manager of Ozzie Simmons all-star negro basketball team was instantly killed.
Ozzie Simmons, star football player and under whose name the colored basketball team played, lost an eye and is in a Clinton hospital in a critical condition, after being unconscious for several hours.
Strickler, Simmons and other members of the team were returning from a basketball game played at Clinton, when they collided with a truck near Durant. Several other members of the team were injured.
Red Stickler is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strickler of Iowa City and a brother of Lloyd of Kalona.
