Mrs. Gingerich Dies; Rites Set
Mrs. Nettie Mae Gingerich, 74, a lifelong resident of Johnson County, died Saturday afternoon at a Wellman nursing home.
Born in Sharon township March 5, 1883, she was a daughter of August and Mary Shulthise Zager. She was reared in the Sharon community and was married on November 11, 1913, to Dave Gingerich.
The couple lived in Sharon township until moving to a farm near Oxford in 1936. In recent years, they had been making their home with their children.
Mrs. Gingerich was a member of the Sharon Evangelical United Brethren church.
Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Allen Zook, of Wellman, and Mrs. Melvin Duwa, of West Branch, and three sons, Olin and Lester, both of Iowa City, and Delbert, of Coralville, and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Oathout funeral chapel with the Rev. Ezra Shenk, pastor of the Daytonville Mennonite church, officiating. Burial will be in the Sharon E.U.B. cemetery.
