Adrianus Schoenmaker, 91, died Saturday at Meth-Wick Manor.
For more than 30 years, he was a civilian engineer for the U.S. Navy Department. Formerly of Arlington, VA., he had recently moved to Meth-Wick Manor in Cedar Rapids.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Newman Schoenmaker; three children, Adrian "Yon" Schoenmaker of Iowa City, Ruth Elizabeth Coe of Arlington, VA., and Maude Jahncke of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Ali Schoenmaker and Elizabeth Kortenbout, and two brothers, Piet and Cornelius Schoenmaker, all of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Services were conducted today at the Sharon Center Methodist Church. Burial: Sharon Center. A memorial fund has been established at Meth-Wick Care Center.
