MRS. J.J. RESSLER PASSES AWAY TODAY

Beloved Pioneer of Johnson County Falls Asleep in Her Sixty-fifth Year

Mrs. John Jacob Ressler, a beloved pioneer of Johnson County, passed away this morning, at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 3 days.
Her maiden name was Fannie Miller. She was born in Pennsylvania, March 31, 1842. Her school days were spent near North Liberty. She was married to Mr. Ressler on Dec. 25, 1858. To them were born 13 children of whom ten remain to comfort the stricken husband and father. The children surviving are as follows:
Mrs. Alice Hartman and Edwin J. Ressler, of Washington. Mrs. Annie Schwimley. Mrs. Sarah Alt, Emma, Laura, Cora, Charles F. Henry. A and A.A. Ressler of Sharon. There are also 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Two sisters Mrs. Dover of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Elizabeth Y of Cambridge NE. and two brothers, Abram Miller of Iowa City and Jacob Miller of Pennsylvania also survive.
Mrs. Ressler lived a faithful Christian life. She was a loving mother, a good wife and a devout friend. Kind hearted and charitable, Mrs. Ressler's name will ever be blessed by the needy she succored.
Of her it may truly be said in Biblical language that her children arise up and call her blessed. Her husband also and he praiseth her.
The funeral will take place from the United Evangelical Church at Sharon Center, on Wednesday, Mar 6, at 11 AM The cortege will leave the house at 10 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Mullen, her pastor, assisted by Rev. A. Schwimley, of Iowa City
