Mary E. Ressler nee Walker was born at Montezuma, Iowa, October 22, 1875; died at her home January 12, 1911, age 35 years 2 months, and 20 days.
Her girlhood days were spent in and near Iowa City. She graduated from the academy and then taught in the public schools for some time. She was married to Dr. Fay Jackson. This union was brief, Dr. Jackson dying several years ago.
She was married to Chas. Ressler her now bereaved husband in the year 1900. Together they built up their present home. She united with the church in childhood and was always very active in Christian work. Her illness was of brief duration and it was apparent that she could not recover. She was was much concerned about her children and gave directions as to what should be don in the future. Kind hands did all they could to relieve the sufferings but the end came and she died in the triumph of a living faith.
Mother, husband and five children, uncles and aunts and a host of friends remain to mourn her early departure.
May all meet where there will be no more good-byes. Funeral services were held at the United Evangelical Church in Sharon Center. The remains were laid to rest in the Sharon Center Cemetery.
