Allen Milton Yoder was born in Little River, Rice County, Kansas. He was the son of Levi M. and Tillie (Yoder) Yoder. Allen attended rural schools in Kansas.
On January 19, 1947 Allen and Genevieve Swartzendruber were united in marriage in McPherson, Kansas. They later moved to Iowa where they were engaged in farming. Allen was an avid craftsman who created numerous items for all the family. He made brooms, woodworking items, and marble rollers and let nothing go to waste.
He was a member of Sharon Center United Methodist Church where he was active and sang in the choir for many years.
Allen was a stranger to no person. His outgoing personality was always apparent. He dearly loved spending time with his family.
Allen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Genevieve 'Jenny' Yoder of Wellman, three children; Robert and wife Pat Yoder of Lone Tree, Richard and wife Cyndee Yoder of Marion, Barbara and Richard Frauenholz of Tipton. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Lane and Tiffany Yoder, Leicha and Matt Scranton, Lacey and Gordon Viers, Sharon and Jeff Scott, Joshua and Wendy Yoder, Amanda and Josh Brown, Anna and Brian Whitlatch, Ali Jo Frauenholz, Jillian Diesburg-Yoder and Austin Diesburg, sixteen great grandchildren.
His parents, siblings, Edith Cline, Maggie Cooley, Maude Coryell, Lula Schuelke, Rolland Yoder and Cline Yoder, preceded Allen in death.
A memorial fund has been established in Allen's honor for the Sharon Center United Methodist Church choir or organ fund for Iowa City Hospice.
