Eleanor King Schrock
1922-2008

Eleanor King Schrock, 86, of Kalona, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at Pleasantview Home after a short illness.
Services were Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Sharon Center United Methodist Church, Kalona, with Pastor Doug Cue officiating. Burial was in Sharon Center Cemetery.
Eleanor Schrock was born January 17, 1922 in Hesston, Kansas, the daughter of Lloyd B. and Myrtle (Bolz) King. She graduated from Hesston Academy High School. She was a homemaker and worked eight years for Mennonite Mutual Aid. She married Howard Schrock on November 26, 1939 in Hesston, Kansas. Mrs. Schrock was a member of Sharon Center United Methodist Church, past district officer of United Methodist Women, Octagon Barn Questers, past president of Kalona Alpha Club, church organist for many years and taught piano.
She is survived by seven children; Connie and husband Dennis Huedepohl of Williamsburg, Gregory and wife Linda Schrock of Iowa City, Linda Nelms of Littleton, Colorado, Gilbert and wife Debra Schrock of Sunland, California, Randall and wife Jennifer Schrock of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Barbara and husband James Murphy of Iowa City, Kerilee and husband Douglas Gahring of Newnan, Georgia; 15 grandchildren, Jeff Huedepohl, Scott Huedepohl, Monte Schrock, Brad Nelms, Zach Schrock, Mitchell Schrock, Tyler Gahring, Kyle Gahring, Shelly Brecht, Kristen Ward, Dana Conrad, Chaundra Nelms, Madeline Schrock, Katherine Murphy; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Kay King of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Cherry King of Mt. Airy, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard on July 20, 1985; two brothers, Delbert King, Gerald King; and a sister Norma King.
A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home.
