Rose Landers, 67, of Iowa City, died peacefully Monday, February 5, 2018 at her home, after a long illness, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City.
A parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.

Instead of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the Iowa ALS Association.

Born August 30, 1950 in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of Keron and Anne (Kenucane) Walsh, Rose grew up on a farm outside of Durand, IL.

Rose graduated from Durand High School in 1968 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in history with an emphasis in journalism from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL in 1972. In 1974, she completed the Occupational Therapy (OT) certificate program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

On June 4, 1977, Rose married Bill Landers in Durand, IL. They were happily married for over 40 years, raising their three children in Iowa City, IA.

She had a 30 year career as an Occupational Therapist, with 20 of those years spent working in the public school setting.

Survivors include her husband Bill; children Bridget (Benjamin) Kulik of Geneva, IL and their daughter Nora; Matthew (Heather) of Fort Collins, CO and their children Kieran, Connor, Anneliese and Eleanor, and Michael (Abby) Landers of Onalaska, WI and their children Evelyn and Colin; siblings Lorraine (Bob) Vormezeele, Anne (Foster) Colby, Alice (Fred) Kraiss, Joan Didier, Julie Willkom, Sue (John) Cocoma, Bill (Deni) Walsh, Bernie (Deb) Walsh, Tom (Julie) Walsh, Fran (Joe) McGinnis, and Molly (Phil) Johnson; mother-in-law Lorraine Landers. Sister-in-laws Mary (Steve) Hunter, Jane (Brian) Schmidt and brother-in-law Jim (Jeannette Stellato) Landers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Dave and Ed Walsh.
