JOHN T. STRUBLE
Of Scott Township

The death of John T. Struble, noted yesterday, at his fine home in Scott township which he has occupied for fifty-six years, removes one of the most prominent of the pioneers of Johnson county as well as one of its most active citizens. Sixty-four of Mr. Struble's eighty-eight years has been spent in this county. Although his health has kept him at his home for several years in his earlier life he was prominent in many activities. He was a contractor and builder in Iowa City in the fifties, and helped to build St. Mary's and Congregational churches and the building now occupied by Svendl hall. He was one of the charter members of Eureka lodge of Odd Fellows and one of the very oldest Odfellows [sic] in the state. Mr. Struble's death will be mourned by thousands of friends.
