Thomas Paul Walden, 53, of 812 East Bloomington Street died Friday morning at his home following a long illness.
Family graveside services will be held Monday at Oakland Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Sunday from 3-6 PM at Lensing Funeral Home, Iowa City. The body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for his grandchildren’s education.
Mr. Walden was born October 6, 1942 in Iowa City, the son of Charles “Buck” Walden and Doris M. Tomlin Walden. He married Jean Koser on December 11, 1962. They later divorced.
Mr. Walden was a 1960 graduate of City High School and had attended the University of Iowa. He was a law enforcement officer for the Iowa City Police Department from 1968 – 1979.
Survivors include two sons: Scott of Iowa City; Steven and his wife, Angie of Davenport; his mother, Doris of Iowa City; his father, Buck, and his wife, Nettie, of Iowa City; one brother, Jerry R and his wife Sheila, of Mt. Vernon, Indiana and their children, Joshua and Rachel; his grandmother, Edith Tomlin of Solon and two grandchildren, Andrea and Adam.
