James D. “Jim” Charipar, 71, of Iowa City, died late Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 26th, at Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with Father Dennis Juhl, Saint Ludmila Catholic Church officiating. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Jim was born June 3, 1941 in Iowa City, the son of Emil F. and Eleanor J. (Farrell) Charipar. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1960 and attended the University of Iowa.
Jim lived most of his life in Iowa City and had worked in retail at Montgomery Wards, J.C. Penney Co., Frohwein Office Supply and was currently employed at Walmart in Iowa City.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Charipar.
Donations in Jim’s memory may be given to the Iowa City Babe Ruth League.
