Jean Van De Ven, age 75 of North Liberty, Iowa died December 13, 2004 at her home following a sudden illness.
Graveside services will be held at a later date. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City provided cremation services.
Alice Jean Van De Ven was born December 10, 1929 in Mystic, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Hughes) Clark. She graduated from high school in Mystic with the class of 1948. On August 21, 1949, she married George Van De Ven Jr. in Mystic. The couple moved to the North Liberty area in the early 1950’s where she was employed at the Oakdale Hospital in the dietary department for many years.
Her family includes a daughter, Susan Van De Ven of Leon, Iowa; sister and her husband, Joan and Max Hammond of Hot Springs, AR; brother, John Clark of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Deborah and her husband, Clark Cardwell and Rebekah Houser all of Carthage, MO; great-grandson, Dalton Cardwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Georgia Houser; sister, Joyce McCrory; and brothers, Robert and Charles Clark.
