Leta M. Seaton, 89, of Hills, died Monday, January 2, 2017 at Lone Tree Health Care Center.

Services will begin Friday at 10:30 am at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. The family will host a luncheon immediately following the service at The Kirkwood Room. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Riverside. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to The Leta Seaton Memorial Fund.

Leta was born May 26, 1927 in Hills, Iowa, the daughter of Wallace “Pat” and Alice (Debrie) Glaspey. She grew up in Hills and graduated from Iowa City High School.

She married Max D. Seaton in 1947.

Survivors include her children, Max Seaton Jr. (Nancy) of Solon; Betty Hellwig (Rick) of Iowa City, Tom Seaton of Hills, Todd Seaton (Jackie) of Riverside and Jim Seaton of Dubuque; grandchildren, Sean Seaton, Nathan Hellwig (Debbie), Phillip Hellwig, Jacob Seaton, Katie Seaton, Alison Seaton and Anna Seaton; great-grandchildren, Patrick Seaton, Reagan Seaton, Madelyn Hellwig, Georgia Hellwig and Sam Hellwig and a sister, Betty Letts of North Liberty; in laws, Betty Nerad of Iowa City, Samantha Singleton (Jim) of Monticello and Keith Crist of Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.

Leta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max, grandson Zachery Seaton, brother Marold “Timer” Glaspey, a daughter in law, Jolene Wombacher Seaton and brother in law, Omer Letts.
