Lorna Kathryn Smith, 88, died Sunday, June 26th at Pioneer Park Care Center in Lone Tree surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM Friday, July 1st at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Very Rudolph Juarez officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, where a rosary will be recited at 7PM. Burial will be at Mentzer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Pioneer Park Care Center

Lorna was born August 17, 1927 in Iowa City, the daughter of Charles and Stella Mougin Hall.
She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School. On June 27, 1946 Lorna married Charles Smith.
Lorna owned Smith and Company. She retired in 1988. Lorna was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, VFW Auxiliary3949 and the Iowa City Women’s Bowling Association. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, cards and dancing. Most important to Lorna was her family.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Pioneer Park.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Earl) Hull, Marlene (Steve) Fuhrmeister, Charles “Chuck” (Cheryl) Smith, Jr., Connie (Steve) Gardner, Lorna Kaye (JB) Petsel, Julie Blakley (Jim Hanson), Rodney (Carolyn) Smith and Gary (Ginelle) Smith; 24 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Margie (Daniel) Duffey and Marlene (Keith) Stevens; sister-in-law Isabelle Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Lorna was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1990 and her parents.
