Carmen was born September 13, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Willard and Ellen (Stutzman) Yoder. She graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in Kalona in 1966. Carmen was united in marriage to Stephen Person in 1969-1983 and from this marriage 3 children were born. Carmen was married to Lowell Miller from 1988-1998 and Dennis Webber from 1999-2000. Carmen worked at the University of Iowa Burge Hall for many years and retired to work for McDonalds in the drive thru up until 2 years ago.

Above all Carmen loved her three daughters and her grandchildren. She was a great friend to many and took in Janette Young and loved her as her own daughter. Carmen had a deep faith in her Lord and Savior. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23 and she was comforted during her final days by having it read to her. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church here in Iowa City.

As an avid Hawkeye fan, she spent many a Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium and in front of the T.V. cheering on the Hawks. Carmen also loved cardinals and all birds; they were of great joy and comfort to her and she collected anything with cardinals on it and had many bird feeders in her yard.

Carmen will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Thank you to Dr. Miller and Iowa City Cancer Center, Iowa City Hospice, Nancy Krutzfield and St. Mark’s UMC for all the love and support.

Carmen is survived by her three children, Diane (Cory) Berwald, Julie Ripperton and Jill McCormick; her grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Isabelle, Meghan, Alyssa, Kailee, Brilee and Averie; her sisters, Sally (Lane) Talbert and Linda (Mike) Loftis; her sister-in-law, Mary Yoder and her step-mother, Ida Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Leslie Yoder and her granddaughter, Haley McCormick.
