Herman J. “Bud” Willnow, 94, of Iowa City, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home. Private burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery in Utica, MN. No local services are planned.

Herman was born March 28, 1922 in Waseca, MN the son of William and Katherine (Krieger) Willnow. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Herman was united in marriage to Frances Olson on April 21, 1946 in St. Charles, MN; she preceded him in death on October 3, 2007. He was a sales representative for Weber Button Company in Muscatine, IA for 13 years. Herman was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Iowa City, American Legion Post 9, Masons, and Elks.

Herman is survived by his two sisters, Marie Sullivan of Dayton, WA and Dorothy Buecksler of Owatonna, MN; nephew, David (Jeanne) Buecksler of Owatonna, MN; and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Frances.
