John H. “Pork Chop” Davis, 48, died Sunday at home following a brief illness.

A Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM Friday, March 11th at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be after 1Pm Friday. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The John H. "Pork Chop" Davis Memorial Fund.

John was born September 18, 1967 in Chicago, the son of John and Dorothy Seals Davis. On December 12, 2014 John married Barbara Finnegan.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Iowa City; his mother and step father, Dorothy Davis (Levi) Gwin of Chicago; five children, Patrice, Khrystyn, John, Marsheria and Jeneshia; three step children, Aaron, Chris and Tony; two siblings, Martha Mitchell of Iowa City and Sophia Seals of North Liberty; his mother-in-law, Alice Finnegan; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
