Genevieve Westfall
(1920 - 1998)

Genevieve Catherine "Grandma Gen" Westfall died June 16 in Crescent City. She was 78.

Mrs. Westfall was born Feb. 8, 1920 in Iowa City, Iowa.

She was a 12 year resident of Del Norte County and moved to the North Coast in 1986 with her husband from Iowa.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish, American Legion Auxiliary, serving as the past president, and was a member of the Iowa American Business Women's Association where she was Woman of the year in 1965.

She also was a member of the Crescent City Widowed Person Service, AARP and volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop, the local food bank and Pine Grove Elementary School.

Survivors include son, Jeffry R Westfall of Mesa, AZ; daughters Diane J. Jackson of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Dottie Nuszkiewicz of Crescent City, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her of husband of 49 years died in 1991.

Rosary is planned at St. Joseph's Catholic church June 21 at 7 p.m. A memorial service is planned for June 22 at 11 a.m.
