G. Josephine Shipka, 90, of Iowa City, Formerly of Edina, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at Crestview Nursing and Rehab Center, West Branch, IA.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Josephine was born September 1, 1925 in Redford Township, MI the daughter of Thomas and Gladys (Aldrich) Drone. Josephine was united in marriage to Emil Shipka in 1945; he preceded her in death on June 23, 2007. She was a teacher for the Eden Prairie Minnesota School District.

Josephine is survived by her two children, Sue (Jerry) Szczech of Coralville, and Milan (Nancy) Shipka of Two Rivers, AK; five granddaughters, Karna Szczech, Rebecca (David) Kurth, Amanda McAllister, Nicole McGreevey, and Molly (Chris) Davis; three siblings, Virginia Bird of Grand Rapids, MN, Julius (Marilyn) Drone, of Death Valley, CA, and Jim Bird of Aberdeen, SD.
