Wilhelmine (Wilgud or Sue) G. Brozene, 92, died peacefully Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City, Iowa.

Inurnment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO, next to her husband John, who died in 2005. As requested, no services are planned.

Sue was born in October 1922 in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of Theodore and Helene Flohr Tisch. She married MSGT John Brozene, US Army, on the 4th of July in Germany. In 1953 they were transferred to Ft Monmouth, NJ; in 1957 to Tobyhanna Signal Depot, PA; 1961 to Ft Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone. When John retired from the Army, the family moved to Staten Island, NY, where they lived until 1982 when they moved to Colorado Springs.

Her pastimes included Bible study, choir and volunteer work at Radiant Church, hiking in the Rockies, traveling, playing the organ and sewing. She enjoyed opera, polka, gospel and classical music. She was always a generous and loving person.

Sue moved to Iowa City from Colorado Springs in May, 2015 to be near her family.

Survivors include her son Ronald (Sally) Brozene; two grandsons, Ben (Lyndsey) Brozene and their children Penelope and Whitman and Daniel (Annie) Brozene and their child Elowyn, all of Iowa City.
