William “Gabe” Gabriel Reed, infant son of Lindsey (Payton) and Brock Reed of Solon was welcomed into the hands of Jesus before his birth on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, September 10th at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Graveside services will be held later that day at 3:30pm at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers the William Gabriel Reed memorial fund has been established for continued support of research in premature births through MidWest One Bank (102 S. Clinton Street, Iowa City, IA 52240). Donations can be sent directly to the bank, to Gabe’s family or the funeral home. His family includes his parents, Lindsey and Brock; big brother Braxon; maternal grandparents Barb and Bill Payton of Waterloo, paternal grandparents Jennifer and Larry “Pete” Reed of Clermont, great grandparents Bill and Bev Payton, great grandmothers Pat Delagardelle and Leota Reed, aunts and uncles, Bre Payton, Brett (Irisa) Payton, Sheila (Jon) Reed, Lori (Gary) Ware, Mike (Patty) Reed and 16 cousins.

Gabe was preceded in death by great grandparents Roger and Gretchen Harris, great grandfathers Bob Delagardelle and Maurice Reed.
