Jeffrey D. Law, 25, passed away at his home in Sacramento,CA on August 10th, 2015. Jeff was born in Iowa City, Iowa on February 14th, 1990, the son of Edward and Julie Law. He was a 2008 graduate of Iowa City High School.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Jeff will be held Wednesday, August 19th at 6PM at Parkview Church, 15 Foster Road, Iowa City. Rev. Steve Rachke will officiate. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 3 to 6 PM at Parkview Church. Memorials may be sent to the Jeffrey D. Law Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 167, Iowa City, Iowa 52244.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Physiology at the University of Northern Iowa in 2012 where he assisted the Panthers Strength and Conditioning staff in multiple sports. While at UNI, he trained in Olympic weight lifting under former Chinese
Olympian Jianping Ma and traveled to Beijing to train with the Chinese national team.

He received his Masters Degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences at Texas Tech in Lubbock Texas University in December 2013 and served as an intern with the Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department. In addition, Jeff taught undergraduate classes at Texas Tech in Nutrition and Exercise. Coordinating with his professor, he wrote health and fitness textbook chapters for McGraw Hill Publishing Company.

Following graduation, Jeff interned under University of Mississippi Football Strength and Conditioning Coach Paul Jackson. In June, 2014, Jeff joined the Sacramento State Strength Staff. With the Hornets, he worked primarily with the football team as well as directing men's and women's soccer and men's golf. He also served as the Internship Coordinator for the strength and conditioning program.

Jeff was accredited through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as being certified by USA Weightlifting in Sports Performance Coaching. He was recently certified as a Corrective Exercise Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Jeff was a voracious reader with a passion for research and motivation in coaching.
Jeff's two favorite holidays were Christmas and Halloween. He especially enjoyed Halloween, as it was an opportunity for him to become his favorite characters from movies, video games, and graphic novels. He loved Batman, Star Wars, Halo, as well as video games and movies of all kinds.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Ed and Julie,brothers:Tom-Apple Valley, Minnesota; Jacob, Iowa City, Iowa; John, Golden,Colorado; His maternal grandfather, Lawrence Paulson (Sandy Wiskus) , Clear Lake, Iowa;Aunts :Janet (Gary) Kostka, Mason City, Iowa; Barb Hagstrand (Jeff Mitchell), Marshalltown; Uncles Bruce (Darlene) Law, Canton, Michigan; Roy (Cyndi) Law, Apple Valley, MN and several cousins. Jeff is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother , Roberta Paulson, Mason City, Iowa and paternal grandparents Roy and Kathryn Law, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Uncle Larry Hagstrand, Marshalltown, Iowa.

Jeff had an outgoing charm and charisma that lit up a room when he walked in. He was young, but had already touched many lives. In his short tenure at Sacramento State, his athletes, interns and fellow coaches enjoyed, respected and admired him. He coached, taught and lived with a passion and energy that was contagious. His parents and family have been awed by the love and outpouring from young adults throughout the U.S. that Jeff had privately mentored, inspired and motivated.
