Jason Andrew Brummel was born August 20, 1971, in Iowa City the son of Marvin C. and V. Gail (Walsh) Brummel. He attended Mark Twain Elementary, South East Junior High and graduated from West High School with the Class of 1992. He had worked with Goodwill Industries and at North Dodge Street DrugTown. But if you asked Jason, what his job was his response would be, “To make you smile”! He enjoyed the very simple things in life, car rides, which usually ended up at Danes Dairy; a can of pop, building with his legos and playing his keyboard. Some might have thought he was challenged, but anyone who knew him was blessed beyond belief for having him in their lives. He brought smiles, so much joy and simply the realization of what truly is important in this world. You were a better person if you knew Jason and embraced his infectious smile and wit. He will be missed by many, but many are thankful for his life in theirs.

His family includes his mom, Gail; sisters, Kristin Donbrock and her husband, Dave of Michigan; Laurie Brummel and Dan Yates of Colorado; 4 nieces and a nephew; Emma, Ashley, Darci, Kara and Cory; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his dad, Marvin and his grandparents.
