Misti D. Johnson, 46 of North Liberty, Iowa formerly of Pierre, SD died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a six year battle with cancer.

Services celebrating Misti’s life will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Kirley Hall in Hayes, SD. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Misti Danell Jones was born April 21, 1969, in Pierre, SD the daughter of Danny D. Jones and Janis M. (Cass) Jones. She graduated from Stanley County High School in Ft. Pierre, SD in 1987, and then attended National College of Business in the Veterinary Tech Program receiving her associate’s degree. She was united in marriage to Bruce A. Johnson on July 10, 1993 in Pierre, SD. Misti was one that loved the outdoors, wildlife, and from a very young age was a avid sportsman, winning numerous competitions in shooting.

Her family includes her husband, Bruce; daughter Dallas Johnson; 2 step-children, Lynda and Jon Johnson; her mother, Janis Jones of Ft. Pierre, SD; and siblings, Travis Jones of Pierre, SD; Justin Jones of Ft. Pierre, SD; and Julie Jones of Ft. Pierre, SD.
