Orville Kinsinger, 88, of Iowa City, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday December 12, 2012, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Lorraine Hartman officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Solon Nursing and Care Center. Online condolences may be sent for his family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com.

Orville was born October 1, 1924, in Washington County, Iowa the son of Vernie and Ethel (Miller) Kinsinger. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Eunice Campbell on August 27, 1944, at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. The couple made their home here where they raised their family. For many years Orville was a mechanic with Hartwig Motors, starting there in 1962, retiring in 1986. Following this he enjoyed driving cars for the area auto dealers and doing garden tilling on the side for others. He along with Kathleen were members of First United Methodist Church, he enjoyed many years of camping with his family. Liked the outdoors working in the yard and his garden, was also known to be a pretty good carpenter, he could build anything! Orville belonged to many bowling leagues over the years, but near and dear to his heart was his family, especially as the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along. He and Kathleen loved them all.

His family includes his daughters, Deanna Molina and Ronda Kinsinger both of Iowa City; two grandsons, Erik and Troy Milbrandt; three great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Colby, and Brayden; his brother, Vernon “Hoppy” Kinsinger of Kalona.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Kathleen, son, Duane, and a sister, Orthella Reese and her husband, John “Jack” Reese; and a sister-in-law, Mary Kinsinger.
