Mrs. Tillie Millice, 98, dies.

WELLMAN - Mrs. Tillie J. Millice, 98, died this morning, January 19, 1974, at the Shenk Nursing Home in Wellman where she had resided for three years.

The funeral will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Franklin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Bauer in charge. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Joetown. Friends may call at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman.

Mrs. Millice was born Oct. 4, 1975* in Iowa County, a daughter of John and Darah McCreary Crawford. She was reared there and attended the Iowa City Academy and University of Iowa.

She married Rev. Henry C. Millice Dec. 28, 1911, and had spent her entire life in the Wellman area. She was a member of the Franklin United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women and the WCTU.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emma Millice of Wellman; two grandchildren, Chase of Wellman and Mrs. Bertha Coffey of California; five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, two step-children, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

*I believe the year of birth is in error in this obituary. I checked on the Findagrave.com website and found her burial information her year of birth was listed there as 1875.
