Helen Tony Marlas, 86, died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Bickford Cottage.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, November 8th at Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Elaine Trout officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation for the Department of English. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.
Helen was born April 5, 1926 in Iowa City, the daughter of Tony and Georgia Marlas.
Helen had received her undergraduate and masters degree in English. She had been an editor with Random House publishing.
Helen is survived by her brother, Louis Marlas of Reno, NV, her niece Carrie and nephew Tony.
She was preceded in death by her parents and godfather, John.
