Constance Teresa (Brant) Organ, 87, of Maquoketa and formerly of Iowa City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Maquoketa Care Center.

Graveside Services will be held at 11 am Monday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.

Constance was born on May 29, 1924 in Iowa City, the only child of Elsie (Solnar) Brant and Attorney Floyd Brant. She was a graduate of U High and The University of Iowa with Bachelor degrees in teaching and art. Following graduation, Constance worked as a Librarian for The University of Iowa Psychology Library, retiring in 1983 with over 40 years of service.

In 1956, Constance married Thomas F. Organ. Thomas passed away in 1995 and in 2000 Constance moved to Lost Nation to be closer to her daughter.

Survivors include her daughter Georgia Sack (Mikel) of Lost Nation, IA and one granddog Lady Luck. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Constance loved all animals, flowers and art. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
