JOSEPH WALKER PASSES MONDAY

Long-Time Resident Is Victim of Sudden Heart Attack

Mr. Joseph Walker, 75, well known Johnson county banker and lifelong resident of the county, passed away suddenly Monday shortly after noon at his home, 406 South Summit street. Death was caused by angina pectoris. He was president of the Lone Tree Savings bank.

Mr. Walker, although he had been ailing, was able to be down town Monday morning and did not complain of feeling ill.

He is survived by one son, Lieut. Com. Myron Walker, located at the U.S. naval air station, Sunnyvale, Mountainview, Calif. His wife preceded him in death in 1931. A sister, Mrs. Rose Thompson, Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews, also survive.

For many years Mr. Walker was cashier of the Hills Savings bank and later was vice president for several years of the Citizens Savings and Trust company of Iowa City.

He was the son of an early Johnson county settler, Joseph Walker, Sr., of Pleasant Valley township.

The remains were taken to the Oathout funeral home awaiting funeral arrangements.
